Frequently asked questions

How can people pay for home care services?

Home care may be covered through insurance or paid privately. Common paths include private pay (often when assets are above thresholds for public programs), Managed Long Term Care through New York Medicaid MLTC plans, and the Nursing Home Transition and Diversion program for people who qualify for a nursing home level of care. We can help you sort through options. Call (631) 608-8523.

How are caregivers assigned to patients?

We work to understand each patient's needs and match them with a compatible caregiver. If the fit is not right, we provide additional training or make adjustments.

What are the qualifications of the caregivers you employ?

Personal care aides complete a New York State regulated course. Work can include help with hygiene, dressing, meals, housekeeping, appointments, transportation, and following the care plan. Home health aides may also assist with tasks delegated under nursing supervision, according to the plan of care.

What kind of training and support do caregivers receive?

Caregivers complete yearly continuing education and have the support of a dedicated nursing staff with 24 hour on-call service. The agency also offers a benefits package that can include paid time off and medical coverage for eligible staff.

Are your home care services available on weekends?

Yes. Services can be arranged 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, based on the authorized care plan. The office is staffed Monday through Friday, 9 to 5, with 24 hour on-call.

How do you help keep patients safe during home visits?
